Philippians 3:12-14 (The Message Bible)

I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.

Day 45

Wow! The half-way point! You'd think I'd be excited...and I guess I am a little...but there is a big part of me that is sad about this middle-mark. Sad I guess because I've been at this for 45 days now and haven't seen any real noticable results. Sad that I only have 45 days left to make a HUGE difference if my after pics are going to wow anybody (especially myself). Sad that in 45 days I will have no work out plan in place anymore. I'll just be floating here and there going to this class and that class...not really knowing what I'm doing. Or, of course, I could start another Round of the X...but I think I'm ready for a break from it. I'm totally stoked about starting X+ but I haven't actually bought it yet....so don't know when that is gonna happen. Anyway, I know I'm the only one to blame for my lack of results. I haven't been eating totally right and I know (from experience) that it takes as much dedication to the nutrition as to the work outs if you're gonna get those ripped results. At least I'm focused and I honestly believe my eating is getting better all the time. Even if I have to do P90X 3 times a year for the rest of my life---it's better than not doing it and being overweight and lazy!
So..about Day 45. I got up this morning and had my Kashi oatmeal for breakfast. Then off to the gym I went to my step class and then interval class. It was super hot in there today (as our weather got up to 75!! and they probably haven't turned the air on yet) so I was SOAKED in sweat by the end of the 2nd class. I burned 743 calories in all for those 2 classes (1 1/2 hours). After a quick shower, I met a girlfriend for lunch at Qdoba Mexican Grill. I ordered a Naked Fajita Ranchera Burrito...meaning they gave me the "innerds" of the burrito but I forfieted the tortilla. I figured that would help me save at least a couple hundred calories right there. I opted for chicken instead of steak and I had salsa instead of queso. It was sooooooooo good. I tried to come home and look up the nutritoinal information online..but they don't have it on there. I hope I didn't do too bad. I really tried to be careful. Then for dinner (at about 6) I ate a big bowl of fresh cut u fruit with some walnuts mixed in. Then at around 7:30 I got hungry again, so I had a small bowl of froot loops and then a small bowl of raisin bran. I know...very weird "dinner". I didn't really cook tonight, so I was just eating whatever I could find that wasn't too high in calories. Hopefully tomorrow will be better! (but then it IS Friday--the beginning of the weekend--AUGH! That's when I usually start really messing up!)
By the way Trav & Jess--yes, you're right FF cheese is just the way I shorten writing out fat free. Also WW is not weight watchers on my blog but rather whole wheat. :o) Dang--I wish BeachBody would come out with a FF cheese that has 30 grams of protien! ha ha

Good Job Jen. You are doing so good with your workouts. If you tweak your nutrition (especially on the weekends) you will get those ripped results you are wanting. (sometimes I think the nutrition is the hardest part though, especially when you have a husband and young kids who can basically eat whatever they want and not gain a pound).
It was hot here to. It got to 86 with a south wind of 30mph. We had to turn on our Air Conditioner last night, because even with the windows open it got up to over 80 degrees in the house and was so stinkin' humid. Ick!

In answer to your question-for you-I would reccommend the PLUS program, if you truly love the intensity of Tony Horton. If you want to switch it up, try Chalean Extreme, I've heard nothing but great things about it, and have seen great results in people. I think it is a lower intensity to attract more women, which is great, but I would hate for you to lose your "hardassness" in something lighthearted such as HipHop Abs. HAHA. So final recommendation from me--PLUS, or Chalean X. (which is far more expensive. the plus still incorporates some of the P90X Cd's.)

I just re read your blog-don't get discouraged. Have you taken pics? because halfway I thought there was going to be no difference, and lo and behold there was. I just didn't notice it, because you see your body everyday, lol. If you are doing the work-you will get results. Remember that.

Also remember, that stressing about "poundage" or results releases the stress hormone cortisol. We need cortisol in moderate amounts for our "fight or flight" response, but too much (like when we stress daily, and for a long period of time)..it messes up your metabolism, and slows down the fat burning process. Your body is going to hold on to unnecessary fat because it thinks you are in danger with all the extra cortisol flying around, LOL. Chiiiiilll. :) You are doing GREAT!
