Philippians 3:12-14 (The Message Bible)

I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.

Day 38

Okay, I'm writing this the "morning after" because time didn't allow for my regular post last night. Yesterday was a great day, workout wise. I did my step class and interval classes at the gym and burned 789 calories (we worked hard!). I ate good all day until dinner when I went to a "recipe swap" with a bunch of girls from my Sunday School class. It was such a good time and it was a real treat to be with all grown up women eating, talking and lifting each other up. I had forgotten what an encouragement talking to other women is. It's so relieving to see that you're not the only one whose kids run wild through the store sometimes or whose 8 year old daughter looks at you after you've just said something to her and says "What-Ever!"
Anyway, nothing there was even remotely healthy food, so I just took small portions of everything and stopped there. I didn't get overly full so I felt good. I ended up staying till 11:30 pm!!! I had told Matt I'd probably be back around 8:30 so he was not happy--and that's putting it nicely. We ended up having a loooooong talk until 3 am. Although it started kind of tense...it ended wonderfully and Matt commented we needed that kind of intimacy more. The kind where we share our dreams and goals and concerns and really listen to each other. I think it was one of the few times in our lives where he actually enjoyed listening to me ramble on for hours! And as a treat for me...he actually talked some this time too! :o)
Anyway, now this morning I am paying for the lack of sleep. I "slept in" till 10 minutes after 7 but that was as late as I could stay in bed before I had to get the kids up and ready for school. I literally feel sick. My head hurts, my stomach hurts, my muscles ACHE and I feel totally dazed out. Unfortunately I can't just go back to bed. I haven't done my work yet and today is Legs & Back and ARX and I have to get that done this morning before I shower. My mom and Brook and I are going out of town for the weekend (well, today and Saturday) and I won't have a chance to work out again--probably until Monday unless I find time to push play on Sunday. Anyway...that's it for now guys! Let the Joy of the Lord be your Strength!

Amen! I meditate on that verse every day!!

Oh, and PS..I barely spend an hour a day doing the coaching thang..just sayin! haha :) Remember you have a great network it seems and people seem to look up to you and really admire your efforts in your fitness. Tap into it-whenever YOU think it's right.

Me personally, I LOVE it so far. :)

Loved this post. Thanks for letting us take a glimpse into your heart. I miss the time when Jeremy and I could talk for hours at a time. But that really wasn't good on the long distance bill! I totally get enjoying girl time. I don't know what I'd do without my friends and being able to decompress with them. Treasure those times and make more time in your life for those kinds of relationships. Bless you!
