Philippians 3:12-14 (The Message Bible)

I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.

Work outs--where are you?

So, I scrolled down through my past posts after I finished typing that last one and I saw that it's been a little while since I've posted about my workouts and where I am with P90X and my whole fitness instructing/coaching journey.
Here's a little update:
Started P90X (for my 3rd round) about a month ago. Put it on hold for a couple of weeks while I worked on polishing up my routines for the gym. Taught classes in my work out room at my house to my friends during the month of May twice a week and instructed a little bit during classes at the gym.
Getting CPR certified tomorrow and will sign legal papers at gym and will become an "official" sub sometime this week. (which means I can instruct classes by myself in the event that the actual teacher can't be there).
Studying for my Instructor Certification slowly but will eventually get certified so that I can start teaching my own classes at the gym.
Today, June 1st, getting back into the P90X swing of things with Matt (who has been doing it by himself during May).
Gained a few pounds over Memorial Day weekend and got back up to 132 on the scale . ACK!
As for the BeachBody coaching business, I'm just gonna be real frank with you all...I'm not having any success. I'm not sure what the problemo is. I talk about it constantly--sometimes on my own but mostly because people ask me about it all the time. Everyone I know who wants to do it can't afford it or they buy it secondhand (or someone gives it to them). That's great because really...my heart is to see people lose weight and get in shape...however...I purchased the coaching kit and signed up for this (partly) as a means of supplemental income. But so far, I have conducted ZERO business. I'm not even considered an "active" coach until I generate at least $50 in business...which I can't seem to do for the life of me. What's strange is that I still feel like it's what I should do. I am working on ordering some business cards and hopefully that will help.
I know I probably shouldn't be telling the whole world about my struggles with this coaching thing...all the rest of you coaches never mention anything but amazing success...but I have to be who I am. And who I am is a blabbermouth that tells the truth about everything and hides nothing. Maybe that's not as much of an asset as I thought...I don't know. One thing you can be sure about....with me you get the real deal.
So anyway, to sum all that up....somebody please go to my coach site and order something!! Ha ha
Surely one of you out there is ready for P90X+ right? Or maybe your recovery drink is getting low? Ever thought about tryng the P90X protien bars or maybe Shakeology?
okay...that's pretty bad...I think I'm begging.

Well, in a nutshell, that sums up what's going on with me in the fitness part of my world. :o)

Ahem....sorry about that. (Since I was "given" P90X by some friends who had bought it and never used it). If I ever do buy any of the recovery drink or anything, I promise I will buy it through you though.
The "teaching classes" at the gym should pay you some also, and help supplement your income a little bit (for your "fun money", if nothing else).
Congratulations on getting all of this up and rolling (the teaching aerobics classes). I bet you are a GREAT instructor. Wish I lived closer, I'd come to your classes in a heartbeat! :) (Who would have thought, 10-11 years ago, that you would be an aerobics instructor, and a beach body coach! Wow girl! What a transformation!!!!)

LOL you were so cute at the end-a little bit of begging but u know, without spelling it out those of us not in the "know" wouldn't realize we can buy products from u and not just the whole p90x or slimin6 etc dvd's. so I say, go for it. Bummer u had to pay to be a coach though. I didn't realize that's how it worked. THEY are certainly making the money regardless of whether their coaches yield large sales, eh? Gotta love their marketing plan though-we'd do the same thing if in their boots I'm sure :)

Here's the thing: I know you have alot going on hon-but you have to make a committment to 1 or 2 things-TOPS. Beachbody has that service fee each month because they do offer incredible suppport-and someone has to get paid. Now-when you say you are talking to people all the time about it, that's a GREAT thing. Thing is-you HAVE to look at these people as LEADS. These leads probably don't have the guts to ask you or tell you they want to change their life. Yes, you throw the bait-but do you reel it in?? You HAVE TO FOLLOW UP ALWAYS. Create a spreadsheet at home with every single person you come into contact with, what you spoke about fitness wise, and follow up in 1 WEEK. You never know, I've had people be ECSTATIC that I called them back, because they just didn't know what decision to make at the time. Some couldn't get in contact with me since I didn't follow up-and ended up ordering from other sources. You can also remind people that pirating is illegal. Borrowing someone's dvd's certaintly is not, but you can remind them that they are getting a second hand product and the disks may have scratches on them (alot of mine do!), and it just won't be top quality-AND you won't have Beachbody support, or a coaches support. For example: last night I was in a chat room with Tony Horton himself, and gained amazing knowledge and tips from him directly-just another perk of being a member of the community. You cannot expect people to just order from you, you need to talk to people (like you are doing) and FOLLOW UP. That is essential. I know you can be GREAT at this..give it 1 hour a day, and you'll see results..just like the workouts! Call me if you have any other things to talk about..I had alot of issues in the beginning, most do. And most will tell you it takes sometimes 6 weeks to get rolling. Whatever you decide to do, I'm in full support, you know that. :)

Hey Jen - wow - lots going on (as usual). I feel like a bump on a log when I read your posts. Give the business some time, girl. People are cutting back left and right so while they may want to lose the weight they just don't have the $ to put into the products. Coach them anyways, have them over to your house to workout, or talk to their about their goals, help them create a workout plan, and then when they do have the $ to spare, they'll come to you b/c they know how supportive you are. (or is it against the beachbody coach rules if you offer training w/o them getting paid for their products?) Just an idea. While I'd love to try it, I've got my gym membership and my new workout plan there, so that's about all I can commit to right now. Chin up girl, just be patient and persistent. I feel the same way when it comes to our company wellness program. If I don't have EVERYONE on board, I take it personally. You're setting an example and people see that first and foremost. Once they're totally convinced that you're the real deal, they'll begin to trust you with their fitness and health goals. It's the building trust that takes a while, but you'll get there. You are LIVING proof that the program works! Good luck!
