Philippians 3:12-14 (The Message Bible)

I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.

Digging Deep...

With that title, you might think I'm talking about Insanity since their motto is "Dig Deep" but what I'm actually talking about is the workout I got in last week (in lieu of Insanity). I was "digging deep" using a shovel this time!
Yes, impulsively, my hubby and I decided to put another water faucet in on our land, near the garden. It sounded simple and painless....until we realized the existing water line that we had to tie into was about 4 feet deep and that the place we wanted the faucet was about 55 feet away! Still, I thought..."I love getting in a good workout beneath the bright sunshine! I can get exercise, a tan AND do something productive!" So I said, "Babe, why don't you go to the store and get all the pipe and materials we need while I did the ditch?" And as any smart man would, he said, "okay!"
The work that ensued following that naive statement was GRUELING, to put it lightly.
WOW! I knew shoveling was good exercise...but I had no idea how much work we had just 'bitten off'. I shoveled for about 2 hours straight in 96 degree direct sunlight with sweat pouring into my eyes and running in little streams down my entire body. When Matt got back from the store, I had a good majority of it done, but thankfully he grabbed another shovel and together we finished the 55 foot long x 2-4' deep ditch. I should have taken a picture of it because honestly, unless you are either a guy or a woman with a real knack for distance, you won't understand HOW BIG AND LONG that is!
Anyway, we got it done and the new faucet is great and something we will enjoy and appreciate for many years.
However, the soreness that I felt the next 2 days is something I've rarely ever experienced. Mostly just in my chest and core...but so tender that even the lightest touch hurt.
(Oh, I forgot to mention that on that very same day, I had started out my morning by teaching an hour of Weights and Core at the gym and then a 30 minute boot camp class...so I'd already gotten in a great workout.)
Anyway, all in all, it was an excellent workout and I wish there was a way to get that kind of amazing exercise every day while at the same time doing something productive!
Today though, it's back to Insanity for me. I gotta get this thing finished! I believe I'm on day 38 still. I'm just crossing off each workout on the schedule as I do it.
I hope you're having a good summer and still "pushing play"?!?! This is the perfect time to start eating lots of crunchy, crispy, tender sweet veggies and fruits!!!

I don't think I could have done all that digging Jen! You are a powerhouse! You are amazing!!!! =)

We're still doing P90, some days when we ABSOLUTELY can NOT fit it in, we don't - and we don't freak out about it, like the first 90 days, doubling up on workouts to catch up. But we usually find a way to fit something in! We went for a walk last weekend in the Colorado mountains, and then did Plyo in our motel room! How is that for dedication? ;o) We always take our dvd's and a laptop with us to try to fit a workout in while we're out of town, because we are gone so often! =)
