Philippians 3:12-14 (The Message Bible)

I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.

Day 3

Okay, it hurts to move. But, despite the pain, the people around here still expected me to work and cook and clean and take them here and there. (how rude!) haha
Anyway, we did good and got up right on time this morning and did our work out (Shoulders & Arms). We didn't have time for the Ab Ripper video this morning, so we did that tonight after Matt got home from work.
We had another succesful, albeit screwed up, day with our diet. I forgot to eat (my pre prepared)lunch before I left to go shopping this afternoon...soooo, I had to make due with a protien bar and banana until I could get home and eat the appropriate lunch. Basically I ate my snack for lunch and my lunch for snack. At any rate, I still ate all the right foods today, so I'm happy.
Here was our menu for today:
Breakfast:
Spinach and tomato egg-white omlet with FF mozerrella cheese
Glass of milk with protien powder mixed in

Lunch:
Turkey burger with sprinkle of FF mozerrella cheese on top.

Snacks:
String cheese, protien bar and banana

Dinner:
Spinach & Asiago Chicken sausage
Stir-fry veggies
Salad with romaine lettuce, yellow pepper, green pepper, avacado, tomato, banana pepper, carrots, green onions, spinach leaves, FF mozerralla and light Ranch dressing drizzled on top.

I am really excited about this new way of cooking. My favorite thing: stir-frying without any oils!! Just a little white wine vinegar or soy sauce, even chicken broth will do the trick! and won't add any extra calories!

In other depressing news, I went to Sam\s today to try to get some good foods for us. I found plenty...which was good...until I got to the check out. $184....say WHAT? Turns out eating healthy costs almost twice as much as eating junk food. Fortunately, though, in the long run, we'll get it all back with our impecable health!!

For the first time in my life I can honestly say....I can't WAIT to weigh on Monday and see how much progres I've made!!

Starting Weights

My starting weight = 147
Matt's starting weight = 200

Day 2

Tuesday, April 29, 2008
We got up a little earlier this morning so we could get our whole work out done before Matt goes to work. Today was Plyometrics. (i.e.--H. E. Double-hockey-sticks)
If you can imagine getting up at 5 am, taking 2 minutes to strip off your jammies and put on a sports bra and gym shorts and then 58 minutes of squatting and jumping...well, that's what we did this morning! ICK! That was definitely our least favorite work out so far. I think I would have liked it a LOT more if we didn't do it so early in the morning. Early morning is my quiet, relaxing time of the day (before the kids are up). Come mid afternoon, I'm ready to be sweatin' and jumping around. Anyway, I think next time Plyometrics come up, we'll save it for after work instead.
Again, we had a great day nutritionally.
We ate the same breakfast as yesterday.
Lunch: Chicken salad with 10 Kashi 7-grain crackers
Snacks: Protien bar, string cheese
Dinner: Turkey filet with stir-fry veggies
Dessert: 30-cal sugar free 100% fruit popsicle (sorry, the craving was KILLING me!)
We are REALLY starting to feel the soreness today! T. G. F. A. (Thank God for Advil!) ha ha

Day 1

So, today, April 28, 2008 was Day 1 for us on our P90X journey. We had a bit of a rough start this morning as we didn't plan enough time to complete our entire work outs (Back & Shoulders & Ab Ripper) so we had to stop half way and let Matt go to work. We finished the workout tonight before dinner. Wow! Is it normal to be so sore just minutes after you're done? I have a feeling we are gonna be hurtin-somethin-feirce tomorrow!
Our meal plan went great today. It was HORRIBLE yesterday (Sunday) as I spent HOURS looking at the nutriion guide and trying to figure out something I understood and could cook. In the end, this is what we had for today:
Breakfast:
Cheese scramble (egg whites, skim milk & fat-free mozerella cheese)
Turkey bacon (3 for Matt, 2 for me)
Strawberries (4 for Matt, 1 for me)
Skim Milk (12 oz. for Matt, 8 oz. for me)

Snack: String cheese & protien shake

Lunch:
Chef Salad (turkey, ham, romaine lettuce, green pepper, tomato, FF mozerella cheese & 2 tbs. low-fat Ranch dressing.

Snack: Protien bar

Dinner:
Baked lemon pepper tilapia; homemade veggie soup (recipe from book), small bowl of veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)

I don't think either of us felt "full" after our dinner...but we were satisfied enough. I guess we have to be not full if our stomachs are ever gonna shrink and get used to less food. It feels weird not having hardly ANY carbs. I guess I eat a LOT more of them than I realized. I'm sure this is going to be great for me since the working out is the easy part for me. It's the eating right that's been holding me back...I think. Anyway, here's hoping tomorrow goes as good as today! (and that we can still move come morning!)
